I'm a full-time work-from-home mom, a hospitality expert with nearly twenty years of experience, and an Ambassador for The Burnt Chef Project, which aims to destigmatize mental health in hospitality and provide resources for our friends in the industry.
My journey in the industry has been incredibly diverse, spanning from cozy family-owned pubs to bustling corporate hotels, where I've gained valuable expertise in various departments. Alongside my extensive knowledge in executive restaurant operations, I've honed my skills in brand strategy and compelling storytelling.
A significant health scare prompted a profound shift in my perspective, leading me to embrace a fearless approach to life and rediscover my passion for sharing captivating narratives. Fueled by a deep love for hospitality, food, and beverage, my initial podcast project blossomed into the creation of Hospitality Bites Media, where I'm excited to share inspiring stories and insights with the world.
I'm thrilled to share that after an amazing twenty-episode run of Hospitality Bites, I'm now gearing up for the final season, which will feature seven incredible episodes.
Even though the podcast is coming to a close, Hospitality Bites Media has so much more in store. I've been hard at work behind the scenes, and I'm absolutely thrilled to announce the upcoming production of
"Beyond the Burn Out," a captivating 10-part series filmed in Ocean City, MD, and the DE beaches, spotlighting this community and those who make this industry run.
This new show will build on the engaging conversations we've had on Hospitality Bites, offering intimate, face-to-face discussions against the beautiful backdrop of the local restaurants and beaches.
Get ready for an exciting, insightful, and taboo-breaking series.
To accomplish this goal, I am seeking sponsorship from multiple companies or individuals to ensure the show reaches its full potential and receives the support it deserves!
If you'd like to learn more, please visit the Beyond The Burn Out page or contact me directly!
I am committed to using the power of connection, communication, and authenticity to make Hospitality Bites Media an informative,
an inclusive, fun, and engaging place for friends in the industry.
Thanks for being here!
Cheers,
Colleen
"The only real stumbling block is fear of failure. In cooking, you've got to have a what-the-hell attitude." Julia Child
I often say food is my love language!
From greasy burgers to perfectly poached eggs to a pile of steamed crabs, gathering around food with my friends and family is a simple pleasure I can't live without.
Oh, and dessert. I will always save room to eat dessert.
They say when you become a mom, it changes you.
I didn't realize how real that was until my beautiful daughter was born. She loves to pretend to cook, bake, and take orders, and she is a little hospitality hustler in the making.
The journey to meet our son was nothing short of miraculous. When I think of what I was capable of in bringing this resilient, tough little guy into this world, I become even more determined to be the best version of myself.
With two little souls depending on me, my goal is to make our industry accessible, sustainable, and healthy for them. If they choose a similar path, it will be set up for their success.
And to my dear Jimmy J., thank you for always being by my side no matter what and constantly being my biggest supporter.
To our next pint-and-bite adventure!
